Losing 20-year morning show veteran Paul Mendenhall to retirement could have been a devastating blow for independently owned WTTS/Indianapolis. After all, Mendenhall is a member of the Indiana Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
However, PD Laura Duncan’s advanced scouting helped her find a replacement — and he wasn’t far away.
Matt Pelsor will start as morning host at Triple A WTTS in mid January. Pelsor arrives from Indiana Public Radio’s WFYI/Indianapolis, where he has been hosting the current events program All In. Pelsor previously worked in the market at iHeart Radio’s WRZX/WFQB.
“The WTTS listeners are my kind of people. Good, thoughtful Hoosiers with great taste in music. I’m very eager to connect with them,” said Pelsor.
“Matt has been listening to WTTS as long as I’ve worked here – which is forever! I’ve listened to Matt on a competing radio station and thought he would fit perfectly on our frequency. So now, Matt gets to create radio magic on WTTS,” said Duncan.
