Rita Houston’s passing in December has left a pair of shoes that cannot be filled. But radio is a 24/7, 365 endeavor, and so for the first time in decades, New York’s WFUV is in need of programming leadership.
The station, which signed on in 1947, has a programming staff of 14 full-timers and another dozen part-timers. To lead that group, WFUV seeks an individual with a minimum of 10 years experience.
The Program Director has a wide portfolio, overseeing planning, strategy and implementation of all programming-related activities on 90.7 FM and digital, including streams, web site, video, podcasts, and social media. Further, the PD will work closely with Corporate Support and Promotions and Marketing to support potential sponsorship and NTR opportunities, as well as work closely with Development, Membership, and the General Manager to cultivate and steward relationships with major donors and advisory boards.
There’s more.
Deadline for application is Monday, March 1, 2021.
