The Marketing Manager creates and executes marketing and promotional campaigns; develops and manages promotional partnerships; and oversees on and off-air brand messaging to build station awareness, grow audiences, and position the station as the premier source for music discovery. S/he supervises the Community Outreach Coordinator and the team of student workers.
Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager plays a key role in developing and executing on marketing and promotional strategies to maximize broadcast and online listenership and event attendance. This multi-faceted role works collaboratively to align strategy, storytelling, design, and analytics to build awareness, grow audiences, and position the station as the premier source for music discovery. The Marketing Manager oversees in-kind sponsorships of third-party events including XPN Welcomes, paid social and advertising campaigns, and the creative development and production of branding and promotional materials. S/he also provides reporting and analysis on promotional campaign effectiveness and manages the station’s external presence for maximum visibility and consistency to brand identity standards. The successful candidate is a natural raconteur who knows how to reach new audiences, is solutions and detail-oriented, and possesses a strong ability to build and manage partnerships. The Marketing Manager also supervises the Community Outreach Coordinator and student workers.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree is required and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Marketing, preferably in broadcasting. Energy, enthusiasm, and detail orientation to produce high-quality work. Must be skilled at managing partnerships, social media engagement, and advertising. Proficient in MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint are a must. Experience in Adobe creative suite, Salesforce, Pardot, Mailchimp, or comparable email platform is a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage several projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Demonstrated skills in negotiation and consensus-building, agency management, copywriting, campaign analysis, and supervising others are a must.

On-Air Host, WYMS Radio Milwaukee
GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
An On-Air Personality represents Radio Milwaukee’s voice in the community. This person introduces programs and music, reads promotional copy and public service announcements, contributes to station social media initiatives and is involved in the overall public presentation of the station. The On-Air Personality’s objective is to maximize audience acceptance and ratings by effectively projecting the station’s desired on-air image. The On-Air Personality will perform assigned responsibilities in a professional manner while following the station format, company policies and procedures, Sate & Federal laws, and FCC rules & regulations while working as an effective team member.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Host assigned on air shift; estimated 3-10 hours per week
Fill in for other full time shifts as needed
Voice station promos, liners and IDs
Participate in weekly music meetings
DJ and Host Radio Milwaukee events
Participate in on air fund drives and special broadcasts
Represent Radio Milwaukee at partner events
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Experience with automated radio broadcasting software. (ENCO, Selector, Music Master, Zetta, Etc.)
The ability to work quickly and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to take direction from Program Director, Operations Manager, Market Manager or other Company manager, and then appropriately adjust performance or behavior as directed.
Ability to organize and prioritize work in a timely manner and react well under pressure
Understands the culture and community of Radio Milwaukee’s target market.
EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE:
Experience in broadcasting as an On-Air Personality operating audio equipment for both live and automated broadcast
Experience in voicing and producing audio.
Live DJ and event hosting experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred
