Last year we saw some great career moves for some very deserving radio and label pros, and it appears that we’re off to a strong start in ’22 as well.

Four new positions in station management, development, and Alternative programming are up for grabs. Take a look, apply, and/or pass along to colleagues looking to move up.

Station Manager, Radio Milwaukee

This is the gig that opened when Jordan Lee left 88NINE for Paragon Media Strategies.

In Brief: “The Station Director is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations, programming, production, technical/engineering, content and compliance of Radio Milwaukee’s stations, with a focus on leading long-range product development. The Station Director provides oversight to the organization’s growth and development, serving as the leader in creative positioning, brand enhancement and relationship-building to move towards measurable growth and maximum impact in furtherance of Radio Milwaukee’s mission.”

Apply on the Radio Milwaukee Site.

Two Positions: Operations Manager, Development Officer

Two solid jobs at the Emerson College FM. Great station, great city. Unfortunately, it’s not a sports town.

Operations Manager – This is not a PD role. It’s the Swiss Army knife operations job that opened when D. Simpson was elevated to General Manager to replace the retiring Jack Casey.

In Brief: “The WERS Operations Manager assists the GM with managing every area of the broadcast organization: FCC compliance, Student Mentoring, Programming, Fundraising, and Marketing. The Operations Manager will also work alongside the GM to grow and monetize the station’s digital assets. These include The Emerson Talk and Information Network, distribution of “The Secret Spot”, ERS+ on WERS HD2 and other on demand content streams.

The WERS Operations Manager is the ideal proxy for the station GM, providing guidance and support to all departments at the station. Experienced in programming, marketing and fundraising, the Operations Manager monitors industry trends regarding the technology and tools used for accomplishing daily tasks in each area.”

Development Officer – WERS needs a seasoned professional to run development. Perhaps you’re a #2 or #3 at a large station and it’s time to take over your own shop. Or perhaps you’re the #1 in a small market and it’s time to move up to the top 10. The previous head of development moved on in the non-profit world, but she left the department in excellent shape. You won’t have to re-build — just do what you can to take it to the next level.

In Brief: “The WERS Development Officer manages all aspects of efforts that yield listener support, including the planning and execution of on-air drives, renewal letter campaigns and telemarketing

The WERS Development Officer is responsible for achieving WERS Membership revenue goals by coordinating fundraising activities including on-air drives, direct mail, telemarking, the major gifts program, and the vehicle donation program. Goals will be set annually by the WERS General Manager based on a review of previous performance with consideration given to any unique circumstances.”

Both WERS jobs can be found here.

Regional Brand Manager, Alternative

Interesting opening that includes an airshift, based in New York. Looking for an experienced pro who can claim previous ratings success.
