There’s nothing more fun than getting on at the bottom of the ferris wheel. All you can do is go up.
Not that this is going to be easy.
After two years at Spotify, Kevin Weatherly returns to rebuild KROQ as SVP of Programming. In addition, he’ll serve as VP/Alternative for Audacy. Therefore he’ll not just save KROQ, but he’ll be charged with salvaging the entire format, according to everybody.
He’s on the job as of June 6.
Alt 98.7 has a 2.2 share while KROQ posts a 1.4, with new numbers due Monday. Both stations cume about a million in audience, which means that it’s very likely the exact same people are just punching between the two stations.
Should Weatherly prove successful, it’ll end up being published as a Harvard Business School case study.
Time to pop some popcorn, sit back, and watch the show.
