Free agent programmer Benji McPhail has been scooped up by NON-COMM Triple A KXT/Dallas. McPhail takes over the Program Director position vacated by Amy Miller, who last year departed for artist management.
McPhail lands at the North Texas Public Broadcasting FM after five-plus years with The Colorado Sound.
McPhail commented, “I am so excited to be the next Program Director for KXT. The entire organization is first class. We share the same vision of wanting to create a radio station that is a community resource for our members and listeners. The future for KXT is bright. I am thrilled to be a part of it.”
In a corresponding move, NTPB elevated KERA/KXT Manager of Operations Jeff Penfield to Program Director at their NPR news-talker KERA.
Penfield, another public radio Triple A veteran, previously worked alongside Sky Daniels to put Los Angeles’ 88.5FM on the map.
