Baltimore/Annapolis radio veteran Carrie Evans is the new Program Director at WTMD/Baltimore.
Evans started her career handling overnights at WRNR/Annapolis and moved steadily up. In 2019 she took over afternoons at nearby non-comm WTMD/Baltimore.
Evans told TheTop22.com, “One of WTMD’s on-air positioning statements is ‘building a better Baltimore one song at a time’ and that is exactly what I intend to do.”
Your Public Radio (WYPR) President LaFontaine Oliver said, “We could not have found a bigger fan of the format and champion for local Baltimore musicians and artists. Carrie has been a stabilizing force for the station during a protracted period of transition and is the right person to lead WTMD’s talented hosts and programming team to new heights.”
Evans had been serving as interim PD (previously Assistant Program Director) at WTMD since the purchase of WTMD by cross-town NPR news-talker WYPR. That sale led to the departure of WTMD’s Scott Mullins.
Evans will continue as afternoon host on the station.
