Among the many highlights of the 2021 Virtual NON-COMMvention was the NON-COMMversation with Brandi Carlile.
WXPN/Philadelphia’s Dan Reed chatted with Brandi for roughly an hour, with Brandi speaking in support of her New York Times best seller, Broken Horses: A Memoir.
Brandi dropped news that the new album is completely done and mastered, describing the forthcoming work as, musically and vocally, the most dramatic album she and the twins (Phil and Tim Hanseroth) have recorded.
Said Carlile, “It’s really over the top; the next step in our evolution — and sincerely the best album we’ve ever made.” Discussions are underway regarding plans for its release.
Carlile also acknowledged the “way-pavers” who came before her, asking to never forget artists such as the Indigo Girls, kd lang, and Elton John — artists who “were parodied, sidelined, and some of them don’t get what they deserve in the latter parts of their career because of it.”
