It’s back! The annual gathering of public radio music programmers and managers, music industry representatives, and music media from across North America returns to Philadelphia in 2023.

The NON-COMMvention is produced by WXPN and will take place Tuesday, May 2 to Friday, May 5 at World Cafe Live | WXPN in Philadelphia. Evening and noontime musical showcases will feature as many as 30 of today’s leading artists and bands from around the world. Conference sessions explore the best practices, opportunities, and challenges for stations with a focus on artist and community impact and sustainability.

Registration for the event will open in January, but hotel reservations can be made now using the link on the Hotel Accommodations page.

In the meantime, please join us in donating to the Rita Houston Memorial Fund.

In memory of our friend and colleague, former WFUV Program Director, and radio legend Rita Houston, the NON-COMMvention will once again endeavor to bring to this year’s event a deserving female programmer from a smaller market station via this honorarium in honor of Rita’s contributions to her station, the format, and the many musicians she championed.

To that end, we are inviting you to contribute to the Rita Houston Memorial Fund! No contribution is too big or small, and 100% of the money raised will be used to pay for the person’s airfare, hotel accommodation, and registration fees for the 2023 NON-COMMvention. Any additional monies will be held to be used exclusively for future recipients.
