Big news from the NON-COMMvention as icon Natalie Merchant and up-and-comer Genesis Owusu are the first artists announced to play the event.
Merchant, whose prolific career includes nine solo albums and seven more as a member of 10,000 Maniacs, will release a new set, Keep Your Courage, in April. Ghanaian/Australian Genesis Owusu is currently getting spins at public radio with the track “Get Inspired.”
In other news, registration is now open, and the official hotel – the Sheraton Philadelphia University City – is taking reservations.
The 2023 NON-COMMvention will take place at the WXPN studios and World Cafe Live from May 2-5.
Music industry and public radio professionals will converge to take part in conference sessions that explore the best practices, opportunities, and challenges for Triple A formatted public stations. Attendees will also enjoy as many as 30 music performances.
